Background:
Among
the
bank card services
available to WordStock customers through National
Processing Company [NPC] is leased-line transaction
authorization, which is much faster than standard
dial-up authorization.
This
page is a brief discussion of Asynchronous
Lease-Line Service,
as well as an overview of the steps involved with
installing lease-line service; please contact WordStock
Sales for more information.

Installation
A
request for service letter, or form, is received from
Vital, the network administrator for Visanet. Ordinarily
you'll send this request to WordStock's 'NPC Relationship
Manager.'
This
letter must include the following information:
- Name
of the sponsoring member bank;
- Bank
contact person's name and phone number;
- Your
name, address, and your on-site contact person's name
and phone number;
- An
alternate contact name and number (optional);
- Whether
or not you will need inside wiring installed;
- Information
about peak volume patterns (optional).
UNNET,
the comany that will actually install the leased line,
will contact you to verify the information. If you haven't
already received information about the different telecommunications
products that are available, UNNET will send it to you.
UNNET
will work with your store's contact person to arrange
for the UNNET circuit and other necessary hardware to
be installed.
Note:
Once UNNET has assigned dates for the circuit installation
and hardware installationt, it is your responsibility
to contact UNNET if you need to change the dates.
Async
installations average 30 – 45 days.
De-Installation
A
request for de-installation of service is received from
Vital. This letter must include merchant name, site address,
site telephone number, site contact and de-install date.
UNNET calls the merchant to confirm this information --
if UNNET is unable to confirm the information, the de-installation
is placed on hold. De-installations are usually completed
within 30 – 60 days of the confirmation of merchant information.
The
local telephone company turns off the CCA circuit service
after the de-install date and then UNNET sends a Field
Engineer to collect the modem from the merchant.
Information
on this page is valid as of March 1, 2002, but please note that all
specifications, including pricing, are subject to change without
notice.
