Link MC5 'Aux' Port Settings for TPG/Axiohm Receipt Printer
This reference document should be available to anyone who may be involved in troubleshooting problems that may arise at the register to which it applies. We recommend keeping it posted in the area of the register. |
Link MC5 Terminals used with WordStock have a specific set of internal configuration settings.
These "default" settings need to be modified when a Link MC5 register setup includes a TPG (formerly called Axiohm) thermal receipt printer.
Therefore, when replacing an existing Ithaca receipt printer with a TPG, one of these default settings must be changed for proper printer function.
Once correctly configured and in use, troubleshooting problems that can ariset at a terminal workstation may include globally resetting the terminal to its defaults.
When this is done, the configuration must again be corrected for the TPG receipt printer to function properly.
How to configure a Link MC5 Terminal for communication with a TPG receipt printer:
- Enter the terminal's Setup Utility by simultaneously pressing both <Shift> keys and one <Alt> key.
- The GENERAL SETUP page will be displayed.
- Press <F2> to bring up the COMMUNICATION SETUP page.
- Using the down arrow, scroll past all of the left column options and stop when the highlight reaches "Aux Data/Parity" in the right column.
- Displayed in the field below the option choices are the possible settings for Aux Data/Parity.
- Use the left arrow to select "8/NONE".
- Type the letter <s> to save this change into memory.
- The screen will report "Save Complete".
- Type <e> to exit the Setup Utility and return to the current WordStock display.
