Update: Ordering Info for Random House – Penguin

Random House and Penguin have merged and are combining their computer systems as of February 2, 2015; the key changes are:

• Random’s 2013975 SAN will be the SAN to use for orders placed after February 2;

• Penguin’s SAN will no longer be used after January 28, 2015;

• Booksellers should hold their Penguin orders from January 28, 2015 at 5:00 PM EST and direct them on February 2, 2015 to the Random House SAN.

Note that Random House title orders can still be placed during this transition from Jan 28 – Feb 2.

Random House will hold the processing of orders from Friday, January 30th, 2015 at 4:00 pm EST until February 2nd, 2015 at 9:00 am EST while the systems are integrated.

During this outage, you will not receive outbound EDI from Penguin Random House. Your electronic orders will be held during the outage.

After February 2, whether you use Random House electronic ordering or Pubnet, you can combine Random House and Penguin titles on one order; or send orders separately, as long as they are sent to the 2013975 SAN.

Going forward, the simplest way to handle the changeover is to change the SAN in all of your Penguin Vendor records to 2013975 as of February 2, 2015.
